King Finch - Oil on Panel - 8 x 10

I love when goldfinches visit my bird feeder. During certain times of the year we can have five or more goldfinches who come on a regular basis. My son and I give all the birds human names, and we named our largest goldfinch, Elvis. Although my son isn’t old enough to know who Elvis is, I find it amusing that this bold little bird with the most perfect patch of slicked back feathers on the top of his head is named for the King of Rock n’ Roll. I couldn’t help myself from painting him a little larger than life to showcase his personality.

Just wait until I paint Dr. Phil—the pigeon who sits on the electric wires outside of our house. :)
